U.S. DOT Releases Summary Content from April 28 Workshop on Interoperable Connectivity

The U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT) has posted content from the second vehicle-to-everything (V2X) workshop called "Developing a Plan for Enhancing Safety Through Interoperable Connectivity." This event took place on April 28, 2023, at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas following the ITS America Conference and Expo.

This April meeting was a follow-up to stakeholder inputs received during and after the August 2022 V2X Communications Summit  held from August 24-25, 2022 in Washington, DC.

The goal of the April meeting was to continue the conversation towards developing a national, coordinated deployment plan to enhance safety through interoperable connectivity. The April workshop was hosted by Dr. Robert C. Hampshire, U.S. DOT's Deputy Assistant Secretary for Research and Technology and Chief Science Officer; Shailen Bhatt, Administrator, Federal Highway Administration (FHWA); Mr. Martin Knopp, Associate Administrator for Operations of the Federal Highway Administration; and Mr. Egan Smith, Acting Director of the Intelligent Transportation Systems Joint Program Office.
