Current Research
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s ITS research focuses on several high-priority areas including Emerging and Enabling Technologies, Data Access and Exchanges, ITS Cybersecurity Research, Automation, ITS4US, and Accelerating ITS Deployment. The ITS Strategic Plan includes in-depth discussion of the ITS Program’s strategic goals, these research areas, and four technology transfer programs.

CV Pilots Presentations at the 2019 ITS America Annual Meeting in Washington DC
Session SS01: Connected Vehicle Pilot Deployment Program - Managing and Operating at Scale; Tuesday, June 04, 2019; 02:00 PM - 03:15 PM; Walter E. Washington Convention Center - 206
The pilot sites are now in the operational phase, in which, the tested system is in operational practice and maintained in good working order. The impact of the deployment on a set of key performance measures will be monitored and reported periodically. In this session, representatives (project leads preferred) from each site will discuss their views of success in terms of the deployment to date, including lessons learned, success stories, challenges, and suggestions for other potential deployers.

This is a technical panel session to discuss the technical issues each site encountered and their solutions. For example, the Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority’s Ham interference issue, the New York City Department of Transportation’s positioning accuracy issue, and the Wyoming Department of Transportation’s no-reflection issue.
