The U.S. Department of Transportation’s ITS research focuses on several high-priority areas including Emerging and Enabling Technologies, Data Access and Exchanges, ITS Cybersecurity Research, Automation, Complete Trip – ITS4US, and Accelerating ITS Deployment. The ITS Strategic Plan includes in-depth discussion of the ITS Program’s strategic goals, these research areas, and four technology transfer programs.

National Transportation Workforce Summit Seeks Abstracts
The Research and Innovative Technology Administration announced a Call for Abstracts for the National Transportation Workforce Summit to be held April 24-26, 2012 in Washington, DC.
Abstracts from educators, researchers, practitioners and organizations are requested for presentations, papers and showcase displays on any discipline related to the transportation workforce. For detailed information please see Call for Abstracts.
The lead organizer is the Council of University Transportation Centers, with the Research and Innovative Technology Administration as a co-sponsor. We are excited about the event which builds upon several years of dialog and interaction among many transportation, education and labor interests.
