Upcoming Webinar on Advanced Automatic Collision Notification: Improving Patient Outcomes and Saving Lives

The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) is hosting a webinar on Advanced Automatic Collision Notification (AACN). The webinar will be held on April 9, 2019, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm ET.

BACKGROUND

AACN captures crash data from vehicle collisions and sends the information to emergency responders, alerting them of the location and nature of the crash so they can respond more quickly with the appropriate equipment. AACN can improve patient outcomes and save lives through rapid communication and vehicle location to decrease response time by first responders; predict injury severity in vehicle crashes; and quickly identify, diagnose, transport, and treat injuries.

WEBINAR OVERVIEW

This webinar will look at the technology and opportunities related to AACN and the activities needed to support the more widespread use of AACN.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

The learning objectives for the webinar are to:

  • Understand what AACN is and how it can be used to improve patient outcomes and save lives
  • Enhance awareness of new and emerging technologies needed to support AACN
  • Promote opportunities to support and advance the benefits of AACN.

This webinar is sponsored by the USDOT's ITS Joint Program Office and the Transportation Safety Advancement Group and is free and open to the public.
