Current Research
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s ITS research focuses on several high-priority areas including Emerging and Enabling Technologies, Data Access and Exchanges, ITS Cybersecurity Research, Automation, ITS4US, and Accelerating ITS Deployment. The ITS Strategic Plan includes in-depth discussion of the ITS Program’s strategic goals, these research areas, and four technology transfer programs.

Federal Highway Administration Advanced Transportation and Congestion Management Technologies Deployment Program Solicitation Webinar
The U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT) is hosting a webinar on the Advanced Transportation and Congestion Management Technologies Deployment (ATCMTD) program solicitation. The webinar will be held on Thursday, July 30, from 1:00 to 2:30 pm EST.
WEBINAR OVERVIEW
This webinar will provide information and accept questions regarding the ATCMTD program established by Section 6004 of the Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) Act. The currently available Notice of Funding Opportunity is the fifth annual solicitation for the ATCMTD program seeking applications from eligible entities to develop model deployment sites for large-scale installation and operation of advanced transportation technologies to improve safety, efficiency, system performance, and infrastructure return on investment. The U.S. DOT intends for these model technology deployments to help demonstrate how emerging transportation technologies, data, and their applications can be effectively deployed and integrated with existing systems to provide access to essential services and other destinations.
WEBINAR DETAILS
ATCMTD Program Managers, David Harris and Cyrenthia Ward from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), will describe the program and the intention of legislation. They will also share the DOT’s vision, interests, and goals as they relate to the ATCMTD program. FHWA’s Ryan Buck, Agreement/Contracting Officer, and David and Cyrenthia will provide detailed information about the award and the application process for the ATCMTD program.
The target audience for this webinar includes state or local governments, transit agencies, metropolitan planning organizations representing a population of over 200,000, or other political subdivisions of a state or local government (such as publicly owned toll or port authorities), or a multijurisdictional group or consortia of research institutions or academic institutions.
