The U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT) will participate in two intelligent transportation systems (ITS) events on Monday, January 9, 2023, at the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Annual Meeting in Washington, DC:
- At the State of ITS TRB Session 2115 from 1:30 to 3:15 pm, Egan Smith, Acting Director, ITS Joint Program Office (JPO), will present an overview of the State of ITS from a U.S. DOT perspective.
- The U.S. DOT team will host an open conversation from 3:30 to 5:00 pm at TRB in Conference Room #302 to continue collaboration with stakeholders on next steps and ideas for formulating a vision and comprehensive plan for interoperable, cyber-secure, connected deployments nationwide.
As a reminder, U.S. DOT has posted summary documents from the V2X Communications Summit held in August 2022 on the ITS/V2X Communications Website. These documents include a short summary synopsis of key highlights and recommendations from the two-day event; and a more detailed summary that provides insight into the various panel and breakout discussions and action items that resulted from the summit.
